The combination of Phenobarbital and Depakote is pretty complex. Here are a few issues I found with this combination:
• It is important to monitor the levels of both medications.• Caution is advised as this combination may decrease Depakote levels and efficacy.• This combination can also increase barbiturate (Phenobartibal) levels.• There is a risk of toxicity.• The combination may increase the risk of central nervous system depression and psychomotor impairment.
