Q: Hi my grandma, had neuralgia, and i was wondering as many sites have different opinions, is it heridterary?

and i keep getting shooting pains in my ears mainly my right, and then it move to the right side of my jaw and pain comes from the underneath my chin if that makes sense? could anyone help? i dnt have any problems with my teeth, and my wisdom teeth are fine, just wondering, could it be neuralgia or an ear problem, because its really bugging me now thank you and i sometimes get a headache dont no if its because of it though.

There are several type of neuralgia. What you're describing, the area in which it occurs, sound like it would be trigeminal neuralgia IF it is neuralgia. It is not hereditary. You can find basic information on it on the NIH web site.
