Hi Robert!   Of course there are other medications you can try! Imitrex is one of 8 triptans now on the market. Have you tried any of the others? The names of them are: Treximet, Frova, Maxalt, Relpax, Axert, Amerge, and Zomig.   Also, if you are getting more then 2-3 Migraines a month, you would qualify for preventive treatment. Currently, there are over 100 medications being used for Migraine prevention. We also have a great article here: Preventive, Abortive and Rescue Medication: What's the Difference?   Are you just seeing your primary doctor for your Migraines? You may want to consider a neurologist or better yet, a Migraine Specialist.   As far as the side effect you are having with the Imitrex, I would consider trying something else. You may be surprised and find something that works better with less side effects!!!   Good luck!
