Q: Generic vs brand

Is the generic version as safe and effective as the brand?

Jan,

 

The active ingredients in generic versions must be exactly the same as in brand names. Only the inactive ingrdients such as binders and fillers are different. Theoretically, generic products should be every bit as safe and effective as the brand name. There are, however, occasional cases where some people find the generic less effective. That's thought to be because of the way their bodies respond to the inactive ingredients.
