Q: Stopping Sandomigran

I want to stop taking sandomigran because of extreme weight gain. How do I reduce dosage and then stop?

I have been taking 3mg per day as a migraine prophylaxis and the headaches have stopped but I have put on 7 kilograms in 3 months.

I want to stop taking it and want to know if I will get withdrawal symptoms?

mellush,

You need to discuss this with your own doctor and get directions from him or heer about how to discontinue the Sandomigran. He or she will also be able to advise you about the possibility of symptoms caused by discontinuing it.

I have just weened off Sandiomigran, I have been off it for about 2 weeks now. I am not having a good time!

My Neuro never advised me of any crazy withdrawel symptoms and there is no information on the info sheet (which I could only view online, the sheet has never come with my perscription).

Sandomigran has worked increadibly well for me, although I would have been nice to recieve a little bit of information regarding potential withdrawels. I have to withdraw as we wish to start a family in a few months.

I am getting really bad brain zaps, and feel generally revolting. Not myself at all.

P.S. I put on a AWFUL lot of weight on Sandiomigran. They say its an appitate stimulate although I dont know if I agree. My eating habits didn't change a whole lot (maybe a little) and I stacked it on.

I am also a professional dog walker, so I should be really fit! ha!
