Q: inderal as a preventative

I have recently failed a another migraine preventative. It never ceases to amaze how much hope one can put in a new medication only to be disappointed in its effectiveness. I was really hoping the last one I tried would work. It took a while for me to convince my headache specialist it just wasn't good enough. Now I am back to the beginning. Inderal 60 LA. Does anyone have any experience with this. I am nervous about the side effects but willing to give it a fair try.

kja,

For a few years, Inderal LA 120mg twice a day was a fabulous preventive for me. Unfortunately, it eventually stopped working, but that was just how my body reacted to it. Inderal has a good track record.

Hi there, I am taking Inderal...unless you are taking it for another reason like blood pressure or tremors or something else..I don't recommend it.  It is one of those meds that once you start you are usually on it for life.  It lowers your blood pressure, lowered my already low BP, but taking it with Neurontin seems to be working for the migraine.  But I also take it for another reason.  Please get allll of the details from your Dr.  (and WEBMD..:))  )    If your migraine is from hormones, I don't think it will help much...have you tried taking Neurontin by itself?  Hope this sorta helps :))
