I have been taking 200mg qhs for over 2 years. I hae weaned myself off the med. I am currently trying to get pregnant. I have see my obgyn and everything is fine. My preg. test as of today says neg. I am having hot flahes on and off. My period isn t due forabout a week. I am only 38 and I don't think it is "The Change" yet. I can only wonder is there after effects to taking Topamax.

Hi Amy,
Topamax needs to be tapered off slowly with the guidance of your doctor. I've not heard of hot flashes before but that doesn't mean it can't happen. Please speak with your doctor about this.
