This could mean any number of things from a simple headache disorder to a not-so-simple aneurysm. Nobody can tell you what it means in your particular case other than a doctor who can review your medical history, discuss your symptoms with you, and conduct an examination in person.
Unexplained head pain should always be checked out to be sure it's nothing serious and to give you some relief. Please call your doctor.
