Topics:Migraine Medication Help

I am a female, 22 years old in college and I have had a past history with headaches since I was a child. However, they have gotten progressively worse in the past year and a half. I am currently taking Relpax but it doesn't always make my migraines go away and it makes me feel dizzy sometimes. I am trying to find the right medication for me.

I wish there were an answer for this question, but there really isn't one that anyone can give you. Everyone's Migraines are different, and everyone reacts differently to medications.

There are now seven drugs in the triptans, so there are six more to try if Relpaqx isn't the one for you. The others are Imitrex, Maxalt, Zomig, Amerge, Frova, and Axert. There's also a new medication, Treximet, which is a combination of sumatriptan (Imitrex) and naproxen sodium.

How frequent are your Migraines? If you have three or more a month, it's adivisable to discuss preventive therapies with your doctor.

Good luck,

Teri
