Hi bandjf09,

Yes it can.  A "sinus" headache can actually be a Migraine with symptoms that include pressure in and around your eyes and forehead, nasal congestion, and head pain.

"True" sinus infections, or rhinosinusitis, are really quite rare and usually have thick, colored nasal discharge, fever, facial pain and decreased smell. Of course some of these can also be Migraine symptoms. Although fever is not a Migraine symptom.  We have more information on this in the article, Sinuses Giving You a Headache? It's Probably Migraine.

Are you taking anything every day for the head pain you are having? This could present yet another problem called medication overuse headache (MOH). You see, if we take Migraine abortive meds such as the triptans or ergotamines or any kind of pain medication -- prescription or over-the-counter -- more than two or three days a week can make matters worse by causing medication overuse headache (MOH), aka rebound. See Medication Overuse Headache - When the Remedy Backfires for more information on this.

I hope this helps,

Nancy
