Q: rush in back of head from imitrex injection

I've left a message for my doctor about this, but thought I'd ask here too. Does anyone else feel a sort of rush in the back of the head when using imitrex injections?

Thank you,

Allen

Hi Allen,

I've never taken Imitrex injection before,  but there are a host of potential side effects one may experience when taking it. Did this "rush" last long or was it disabling? Did it hurt? You may also want to call your pharmacist and ask him about it, they are a wealth of information.

Good luck

I've felt the tingling and rush in the head.

I also get a tight throat and cramping in the veins of my inner thigh and forearms.

Too bad they no longer work for me either.  I get an hour of side effects and then only 45 minutes of headache relief.

Allen,

Yes, I've had a feeling that I'd describe as a rush up the back of my head when using Imitrex injections.

That said, you did the right thing calling your doctor.

Hope things are OK,

Teri

im only 15 and i just took this injection tonight when i started to get a migrain. it felt like the medicine went straight to the back of my head and it started to hurt really bad and i felt tingling and my heart kept fluttering and actually right now my headach is coming back, and i just took the injection around 11pm. i would honestly rather have the migraine than have all the side effects. i had a panic attack and it made it worse and i had to go to the ER because the side effects were really bad and my scalp was tingling and it hurt really bad.
