My first real experience with chronic head pain...

Wednesday, October 07, 2009

Hi Mr. Hurt,

I'm sorry you are suffering so, but you should call your doctor and make an appointment to have an exam. That is what is needed now.

At this point it is imperative to get an accurate diagnosis. The correct/full diagnosis of what type of Migraine you have will help with a treatment plan, learning about your Migraines, and getting care if you're away from home.  You can read more about this in The Type of Migraine Does Matter.

Ice pick headaches sometimes have short, stabbing pain in and around the eye area. I'm not suggesting you have this, only a qualified doctor can do that. We do have some information on this type of headache you can find in this article: Ice Pick Headaches - The Basics.

Good luck and do let us know how you are.

Nancy

This animation shows one of the key causes of pain during a migraine--changes to the blood flow within the brain.
