Lisa,   -:¦:-•:*'""*:•.-:¦:-•*Welcome to MyMigraineConnection!*•-:¦:-•:*'""*:•.-:¦:-   There're really no one "cocktail" that works best for everyone. In the ER, you're also limited by hospital policy. It sounds like the ER you go to is actually better and more flexible in treating Migraine than many others. Many will not give any pain medications at all for Migraine.   Decadron is fairly commonly used for treating Migraine in the ER as are the other medications you listed. One thing you might ask them to try is very simple and innocuous, simple IV infusion magnesium sulfate. It has an excellent track record for actually aborting the Migraine rather than just masking the pain for a few hours.   Something to discuss with your own doctor is rescue medications. Rescue medications are prescribed to be used at home when your regular medications fail, and the goal is to keep us out of the ER. In my opinion, AND that of the two Migraine specialists I see, every Migraineur should have rescue medications. When you treat your Migraines at home, you get your treatment more quickly, more easily, less expensively, and without all the stress and strain of having to go to the ER.   Welcome again,
