Q: Could I have a type of migraine?

I have had these attacks where all of the sudden I feel like I am dreaming or remembering something, then I feel faint and weak and lose bodily functions I have to lay down. It happened six times last night. Before that, happened two years ago after a trip to Colorado in the winter.  I didn't have a headache either time.  It was also cold when it happened yesterday. Any ideas? it scared me.  I did go to a neurologist two years ago.  They couldn't find anything wrong with me. They said it could be a type of migraine.   Thanks.

Yes, even though some of the symptoms you describe aren't common (losing bodily functions), and having them so many times in one day is unusual, these could be Migraine symptoms.

That said, these symptoms could also be something else. Since there's no test to confirm a diagnosis of Migraine, the diagnosis is made by reviewing your personal and family medical history, going over all of your symptoms, conducting a full examination, and ruling out other causes of the symptoms.

As much as we want to help, nobody can diagnose you via the Internet. With the symptoms you're having, you need to see a doctor. If your doctor isn't able to help you, it may well be time to consult a Migraine and headache specialist. It's important to note that neurologists aren't necessarily Migraine and headache specialists. Take a look at the article Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? If you need help finding a Migraine specialist, check our listing of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists.
