Terri,

It's highly unlikely that a single baby aspirin gave you any relief from a Migraine.

How long have you been taking the Topamax? If you've been taking it three months or more, it's time to talk with your doctor about trying something else.

Are you taking Migraine abortives or pain medications daily? If you're taking Migraine abortive meds such as triptans or any kind of pain med more than two days a week, a big part of your problem may well be medication overuse headache (MOH), aka rebound. See Medication Overuse Headache - When the Remedy Backfires for more information on this.

If you and your doctor aren't making progress, it may be time to see a Migraine specialist. Take a look at the article Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? If you need help finding a Migraine specialist, check our listing of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists.

Good luck,

This animation shows one of the key causes of pain during a migraine--changes to the blood flow within the brain.
