Q: I've had a fever and migraine headache for 5 days. Prescribed Sumatriptan and co-codamol but they are not working. What can I do? Should I be worried?

It's time to see your doctor again. I wouldn't say that you should exactly be worried, but you shouldn't just let it go either. When a Migraine goes more than three days, it's time for us to get help from our doctors.

 

Another issue is continued use of the sumatriptan and co-codamol can make matters worse by causing medication overuse headache (MOH), aka rebound. They shouldn't be used more frequently that two or three days a week. See Medication Overuse Headache - When the Remedy Backfires for more information on this.
