I have head pain from my Cranio-cervical instabilty and Seizures

11/14/09

Hi,-

I was wondering if you think it's a reasonable request to ask for a test to be done to clarify the most troublesome bump on my forehead right above my right eye- it feels like an artery or vein that funnels into my right eye- and the right eye is where I had my first excruciating pain leading to my first seizure.

The pain comes on and the bump seems to get larger and I often have neurological problems crop up then.

I have a myriad of neurological problems with my Cranio-cervical Instability and Settling, Tethered Cord, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Mitrol Valve and Tricuspid Valve regurg. (post heart surgery) and a hole in my heart as well as Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia.

If you think a test is reasonable, what test would best reveal what is going on? I have had CAT scans in the past- that show nothing about my several head/facial cysts.. MRI's reveal a lot- but nothing about what's going on in the frontal lobe of my skull/brain and nothing in the soft tissue. My eyesight is doubled at times and I often have dialated pupils. I also notice that my eyes don't line up just right- one strays off - (part of the double vision?)

-ps.  this area I'm describing is more painful without my glasses with prisms in them to help my double vision-

I apologize for the lack of clarity in my question-

But thanks anyway!

zoe

My first real experience with chronic head pain...

Hi zoe,

It certainly sounds like a reasonable request and I really want to help, but, I am unable to answer your questions because it  really cannot be answered online. These types of questions, concerns and diagnosis' can be provided only by a doctor after they do a full medical workup and exam, which also includes a family history as well.

It sounds like you're going through a rough time. If you'd like some additional support, come join our discussion forum. You'll need to register again once there because it's a separate membership database, but you can use the same member name, email address, and password that you used here. Good luck

This animation shows one of the key causes of pain during a migraine--changes to the blood flow within the brain.
