Hi sueetaur,
There are many types of Migraines and their names can be quite confusing. Optic Migraine may be more of a descriptive term than diagnositc one. Migraine without aura is the term more commonly used according to the International Headache Society's International Classification on Headache disorders, Second Edition (ICHD-II), the gold standard in diagnosing. This article has more information:
Ocular, Optical, and Ophthalmic Migraines.
A second opinion is always a good idea if you aren't making any progress in your (or your daughters) treatment or aren't happy with the doctor. In fact, it is your right to have a second or third opinion til you find the doctor who will work with you and your daughter to find a treatment plan that works for her. This may mean seeing a Migraine specialist rather than a neurologist. We have a list of patient recommended specialists you can see HERE. This article Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? will tell you what you need to know about when to see an expert.
Good luck and I hope this information helps
Nancy
