What do you consider an aura? I get black "spots/floaters".

I mainly suffer from menstrual migraines but I'm lucky enough to get just your every day variety too.  I've been noticing that I get alot of "floaters" before and during attacks and was wondering if that is an aura?

"Floaters" aren't a typical aura symptom, but it's possible that it's part of an aura for you. Statistically, it's unlikely because only 20 - 25% of Migraineurs have aura. You can read about aura symptoms in Anatomy of a Migraine.

Please make an appointment and talk to your doctor about this. Whenever our Migraine symptoms or pattern change, we need to consult our doctor to confirm that all the symptoms are actually from Migraine.

Good luck,

In the past when I had seizures I would expierence an aura of different colors but recently I had an aura when I was driving down the road and I lost my vision and then the road seemed to be rolling-I had several tests run and the Dr. said that I am having Acepheagic migraines.

This animation shows one of the key causes of pain during a migraine--changes to the blood flow within the brain.
