IV infusion of magnesium sulfate works very well for some people. You can find more information in IV Treatment of Refractory Migraines.

I had magnesium sulfate IV when I was in the hospital for my migraine. Unfortunately, I was allergic to it, so I could not tell you if it worked for me or not.
