Q: Unusual sensations with migraine ?

I have had migraines for forty years,I have the usual visual disturbances like aura and tunnel vision and also get a numbness in my fingers and hands leading to my nose and tongue ,just lately i have started to get a cold sensation running down my arm leading to pain is this a normal sensation with migraines? i am left with sickness and an awful headache. The cold sensation in my arm reminds me when you are being given an annesthetic and the fluid is entering your veins.

Hi kieron,

Any time we have a change in our Migraine patterns or symptoms, it is always a good idea to discuss them with out doctor. Since we are not medical professionals we cannot tell you for sure what is going on with your arms and it is always best to contact your doctor.

During the aura phase of a Migraine, some people do experience similar feelings, but since this is a new symptom for you, please contact your doctor. Our article Anatomy of a Migraine has details on the four phases of a Migraine attack. Continue reading on for more information: Anatomy of a Migraine.

Good luck

Nancy
