Q: help with migraines and muscle spasms

I have lived with intense chronic migraines and muscle spasms for 14 years now.  I have tried every homeopathic therapies (accupuncture, accupressure, massage therapy, rakki, meditatio) as well as other therapies (physical therapy, chiropractic, upper cervical chiropractic, biofeedback, active release therapy) and nerve blocks (lidocaine trigger point injections and occipital nerve block).  Nothing has seemed to work.  I am at the end of my rope and don't know where to turn.  I'm sick of taking meds and doctors not having a clue as to what to do with me.  The muscle spasms are so bad that over the last 7 years they have actually caused 4 bulging discs, nerve damage in both arms and tore all the ligaments in my R shoulder (haven't had an MRI of my L one yet).  They also found a spot on my brain, which they said is common in people with severe migraines.  If there is anyone out there who can offer advise or do anything please contact me.  I am desperate for help!

Hi Elizabeth,

I'm sorry to hear you are in so much pain. You sound a bit like me. Chronic pain can make you frustrated, cranky and exhausted. You've come to the right place for some information.

I would suggest seeing a Migraine/headache specialist. This is the expert in treating patients with Migraines and headache disorders. We have a patient recommended list you can see HEREMigraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? has some great information for you.

Neck issues can trigger a Migraine attack, I know mine does. I've had cervical fusion surgery but continue to have Migraines. It did take care of other neurologic issues I was having due to herniated discs. I'm certainly not suggesting you have surgery,  because if a surgeon says he can rid you of your pain, RUN.

Don't lose hope even though it may feel like you have tried every drug out there, it really isn't possible. There are over 100 medications available for Migraine prevention. Migraine Preventive Medications - Too Many Options To Give Up!

Good luck

Nancy

I have lived with Migraines and muscle spasms since November, 1981.  There have been times that I didn't think I could stand another headache, and I had at least 3 per month - and usually more like 7 to 10 per month.  I would go into my doctors office and tell them that I was willing to be their guinie pig.  I was willing to try anything!  The only comfort they gave was that most women don't have migraines in old age.  I went into menopause almost excited that I might get my life back.

At the same time I found something called Christian Body Migraine Defense.  Shortly after I found it, they sold it and changed the name to Tuliv Migraine Defense.  I came across it online.  I thought... I have literally tried everything the doctor had recommended, and read over the entire web site, and decided to try it.

IT WORKED!!!!! Nothing had EVER worked for me before.  I don't understand why every doctor in the Nation isn't clamoring for this for their patients.  I don't sell this stuff... I don't get anything for recommending this... I have just suffered like you, and want others to benefit.

Good luck.  I responded to this stuff within the first week I tried it.  I hope it works as well for you.  Take care.

I have suffered from migraines for 30 years,  and was just recently diagnosed with genetic cervical torsion dystonia. I also have scoliosis, which I already knew. I had been having severe muscle spasms and knots mainly in my upper back and shoulder blade areas since I was 13 years old (along with the migraines) but never made the connection, or should I say the doctors never made the connection.  Not until I went in to see a neurologist  that specializes in headaches and neuromuscular disorders.  I cried when she told me I had dystonia, THE ANSWER  I had been waiting to hear for so long! I am now taking baclofen, a muscle relaxer and propanorlol-which is a blood pressure med ,but also used as a migraine treatment and anxiety reducer. Botox injections were advised- but they are very costly, so I opted out. I am doing better now, fewer headaches-not so intense and I can live with that, compared to the 3-4 a week I was having all my life! I was so depressed and exhausted looking back on it now. I am tired a lot being on these meds but they have given me back a much better quality of life. Perhaps you should see a specialist in neuromuscular disorders and diseases as I did. I hope you find the answer behind it all ,too.

I experienced much of the same.  I tried every medication my doctor could come up with.  Nothing worked.

A few years ago, I was just looking all over the internet for solutions and came upon a website called "Christian Body Migraine Defense."  It grabbed my attention because they had put their phone numbers on the website and asked people to try their Migraine Defense, and give them feedback.

The website is now called "Tuliv", and the medicine is still called Migraine Defense.  I started taking it, and for the first time in 20 + years I went for a month without a migraine.

Now, it has not totally gotten rid of my headaches.  It isn't perfect.  It is however, the only thing that has ever worked for me - and I have tried it all.

I am not a sales person for them or anything like that, but I can really relate to the agony you have been through.  My headaches started in November 1981, after I had my last child.  I had at least one headache - usually more - every month until I started the Migraine Defense.

I have also had the strange experience of having migraines without the headache now. It doesn't happen often, but it has been interesting that the muscle spasms continue even when I don't have the headache.  It seems strange, but it is better than it used to be.

Take care.  You can find the website by going to Google and typing in Tuliv or Migraine Defense if you are interested.  Good luck.

I have had similar results with Tuliv Migraine Defense.  As a 52 year old male, I'm a little different from the usual migraine sufferer.  My migraines began about three years ago.  At first I was experiencing what I called a "pressure in my head" but as time passed, I began to experience the headaches.  Wow!  What a revelation!  I had heard about migraines but never had a clue as to how miserable they can make you.

I tried lots of different things including verapamil suggested by my neurologist.  The verapamil helped but the pressure in my head stayed.  I decided to give Christian Body Migraine defense a try and within a few weeks I was feeling almost normal.  They suggest 6 capsules a day which I did for three weeks then I tapered it down to 2 a day and that seems to keep the migraines away.  I was taking the verapamil at the same time but eventually stopped taking them.

Once or twice a year I still feel a migraine coming on, usually with the corona marking the onset so I keep a bottle of Excedrine Migraine with me and take a couple as soon as I realize what's happening.

I have nothing to do with Tuliv Migraine Defense, nothing to gain at all, but I credit their product with helping me to feel normal again.  If you have migraines, it would be well worth the $30 to find out if it will help you.
