Q: Making homemade wine triggered a migraine

I know that drinking wine is a trigger but I just found out the hard way that making homemade wine is a trigger in the fermenting stage. Can you tell me why ?

Hi Karen,

If you are making red wine it contains an amino acid known to trigger a Migraine attack. This information comes from The American Headache Society. They suggest limiting the amount alcohol one drinks and alternating it with water, and avoiding red wine.

We have information on Migraine triggers you can find HERE.

Good luck

Nancy
