Q: Do pain free migraines cause any type of permenant brain damage to the arteries, etc?

Back in 2004, I was diagnosed with "pain free migraines". I had every kind of test possible -MRI, MS, CAT Scan, etc. They determined that I did not have TIA's, stroke, etc. The neurologist said the pain free migraines were caused by emotional upset, stress, etc. What I want to know is can this type of migraine cause any permenant brain damage?

With or without the headache/pain phase, there is some evidence that Migraine may be a progressive brain disease that can, in the long run, cause white matter lesions on the brain. Researchers are still learning about this, so we don't yet know what damage may be done by Migraines.
