if used for alzheimers can you stop usage of it

mom is 84 nursing home mgave for her alzheimers she has never had a seizure  can we stop using,its sounds like presciped for no reason - Depakote

Depakote is prescribed for several conditions other than seizures. Never discontinue it except under a doctor's supervision -- never. Abruptly discontinuing Depakote can have very serious consequences, including causing seizures.
