Q: has anyone taken Periactin for migraines?? Does it help?

I've never used Periactin myself, but know other people who have. It's an effective daily preventive medication for some people. As with other preventive medications though, the only way to know if it will work for you is to try it.

I've been on it for about a month and a half now.  I would get at least 3 migraines a week before starting this.  Now I'm not even getting a migraine every week!  It's the first thing that has actually worked for me.  I've been seeing my neurologist for about 6 years.  The only bad thing...I've gained about 8 pounds since I've started it.  Just remember it can increase your appetite.  My doc didn't tell me.  I looked it up after I started gaining weight.  Good luck!
