What are the top medications with the best results as a preventative for migraines?
I understand that each person is unique when taking meds and what works for one does not always work for another...but it's time to try one more time...and, would you know of a good doctor in and around Ottawa/Montreal, Canada?

I wish there were information available to let us answer this question, but there just isn't. We do know that verapamil seems to be an excellent preventive for hemiplegic Migraine, but beyond that, there just isn't data available. Sorry. :-(
As for a doctor, check our listing of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists. There are some recommendations there for doctors in Canada.

Hi Teri, thank you for your reply, it was helpful, unfortunately the closest doctor is 4 hours away from me...but you never know, I may just decide to go for it and see if I can get in anyway.
