Hi Stephanie!

If you do not yet have a neurologist or Migraine Specialist - you should work on finding one. Migraine is a genetic neurological disease.

If you are not currently taking preventive medication, that may help you with the effects of Migraine and also cut down your Migraine frequency.

A Migraine lasting more then 72 hours with no breaks in pain (not including sleep) is called Status Migranous. This can be a dangerous condition and you need to seek medical attention either from your doctor or an ER.

Good luck to you!

Eileen

Yes you should go to the ER but you really need to ask your DR if you have 1 to refer you to a neurologist because these headaches could very well be a sign of even worse problems.I know because i've been suffering from migraines for 30 yrs now.
