Q: Barometric Pressure Change Migraines

I suffer greatly from changes in the barometric pressure. The change from low to high or vice-versa brings on  migraines and has for over 18 years. I am wondering if there is a place to live that is better for this? I have lived in Colorado, above 7000ft altitude, for 20 years now, but in the 80's, I lived in Michigan and had them there, although not as often as here. Any ideas? Thanks, Candace

Hi Candace28,

Probably the Las Vegas area or south of Phoenix. These areas have fewer swings in barometric pressure, which is a primary Migraine trigger. But making a move for just that reason is fairly drastic. have you kept a Migraine diary to see if you have other triggers, like certain foods or dehydration? You can try our downloadable Migraine diary HERE.

Good luck

Nancy

Hi Nancy, Thanks for your response. I do keep a diary and, other than the obvious like alcohol, I don't have any food triggers and I am very conscious about what I put in my body and how much. The water I drink is filtered and I drink enough to alot of it daily. I was hoping for an area like Oregon or Washington, someplace that offers winter sports and isn't too hot in the

Summer, as the extreme temps affect me too. Again, thank you for your tips.Smile
