I have headaches alot on and off.  Today when I had my headache I could rub a spot or knot on the left side at the base of my skull and it felt like it was tension, well since then (over 8 hours ago) it is hurting more and feeling like going down my neck just a little not much at all but I can feel it in my shoulder kinda moving down

Hello,

 

It's possible that this is muscle tension, but nobody can tell you via ther Internet. Unexplained head pain should always be checked out.  Please call your doctor?

I sometimes have a sensitive area at the base of my skull right in the center about where your spine and brain connect. I understand exactly what you are talking about and it is very painful.
