Hi mary,
The important thing about Status Migrainous is to break the pain cycle. Some treatment options include steriods. other treatment options include IV infusion therapies which are quicker and usually end the pain. We have information on these treatment options HERE and HERE.
Potential side effects of any medication are just that, potential. They may not happen to everyone all the time.
