Hi midnite,

First, I'd like to address your eyesight issue if I may. People taking Topamax may experience potentially serious vision issues blurry vision, pain around the eye, redness and even pupil dilatation. It is imperative to contact your doctor immediately if you are having any of these symptoms, as they may become permanent. You may need to slowly taper off Topamax with your doctors help. We more information on in this article: Potential Vision Issues with Topamax. Will you contact your doctor in the morning and let me know what he says?

Now, on to your other question - sometimes when we start  new medications, we may need to adjust the dose after a bit - if there are no unwanted side effects and we are seeing a reduction in our Migraine frequency and severity.

Don't give up even though it is easy to feel as if you've tried every medication out there. But there are so many medications that can be used for Migraine and headache prevention that it's literally impossible. You can find a list of potential Migraine and headache preventives in Migraine preventive medications - too many options to give up!

I hope this helps, and look forward to hearing from you tomorrow.

Thanks Nancy,

But befor Topamax I was losing my eyesight all together in either one or both eyes. Yes I have made a doctors appointment for tomorrow because of a couple reasons- the pain is back to being on a scale of 1 to 10 it's about 12 durning my migraines .Also it's becoming hard for be to not turn numbers around it's like being dislaksik. I've had MRI's,blood work, tests, been poked &proded. And they can't tell me what's going on.

My problem with other preventives is that I have 2 stents in my heart and most of them raise blood pressure. It's starting to interfer with my job and I can't afford to lose it.

        Nancy,

Sorry I'm late getting back to you but my doctor thinks last week end that I may have had an other mini stroke. I had problems putting sentences together also reversed numbers not good when you're handleing money and even typing I have to proof read myself. He has increased the Topamax to 200 mg 2times a day and put me on Aggernox to thin my blood. Today I had an eec and Friday a catscan.Still having my migraines and feeling like crud but have to work to keep my insurence.

I'll let you know what I find out. Thanks for caring
