I don't know if it can cause damage but it seems like it is possible given the recent news about Silent Damage.  I have no idea what the significance is I get . I too get them when I fly. Now I tread travelling on a plane. I guess it is a good thing I am not a flight attendant!

Hi lily,

A recent study was released concluding that Migraineurs with a long history and/or those who have frequent Migraine attacks are at an increased risk for silent brain damage, meaning, without sypmtoms. Continue reading this article for more information: Yes, Migraines Can Cause Brain Damage.

As far as Migraines and flying go, there are a few things you can talk to your doctor about before you fly. We have an Ask the Clincian question, "Is there a migraine medicine I can take before flying to a high altitude"? that will be helpful.

Another important point is it may be time to see a Migraine specialist. Migraine and Headache Speciialists - What's So Special? is a great article. Then you can click HERE  to see our directory of patient recommended specialists.

Good luck

Nancy
