I personally would call your Doctor and make sure what you will be taking will not cause any other side affects that you have not already experienced. I would also think the pharmacy would of had to make a call to your doc's office to check your file and get an okay from your doc to make this substitute. No one has the authority to make any changes until speaking with the authorized person who prescribed the original med.

Weather it is safe or not and you are not comfortable taking the med you can always do a search on it for the benefits and any side affects.

Many meds even though their intial prescription is meant for a certain medical condition can also be prescribed for other health issues.

Did the pharmacy explain the med to you?  If still uncomfortable phone your doc's office and let them know that and that yo do not want to take the med.  I would stop on my own with out your doc's office being aware of your decision. Never know about the side effects that you may have to experience from being off that type med.

Best of luck to you on getting this in order.
