Early today, Fri, 9/10/10, I got this sharp shooting pain on the left side of my temple. I took 2 Magnesium capsules and later realized it was gone. Later in the afternoon it came back - it would last only seconds. I went to bed and at 2:00 AM I awoke to go to the bathroom and the pain was still there. I took another Magnesium which hasn't helped. I went online to research headaches and found interesting stuff about ice pick headaches which is what this seems to be only now at 3:00AM when I move my head I feel the pain - it seems to be there all the time now and there is a heaviness on that side of my head. Back in December 2009 I went to an ophthalmologist as I was getting strange zigzag blurry spots in my eyes and was told it was migraines in the eye. I had read Magnesium was excellent for migraines and took 2 - within 30 minutes my eyes cleared up. It's happened 5 more times since then and every time I take the Magnesium it's gone within 20-25 minutes. Right now i...
Full Question: My 6 year old daughter has been complaining of a terrible pain in the left side of her head (Temple area) she had this headache a few weeks ago and also the last 3 mornings, she doesn't seem to have any other symptoms other than also complaining of a stomach ache, but they don't necessarily coincide with each other, she had an MRI about 8-9 Months ago and it came out clean. Is there anything you can recommend? I can't find much on headaches in Children. Thank you in advance, Michaela. Answer: Dear Michaela; Sometimes, children this young have symptoms that they don't recognize and tell you about. A parent's observations are as important as what the child says. When she has a headache or stomach ache, does she shy away from light or noise? Sensitivity to sound or light could indicate Migraine. Is there any history of Migraines, sinus headaches, or "sick headaches" on either side of the family? Most of the time, wh...
Hello. I'm a 55 yo man, former smoker, have lone paroxysmal afib (6 years) and been suffering with increasingly bad sinus problems for the last 20 years. I've seen 2 ENT's and two allergists over the last 11 years and been given K and Z packs as well as steroidal sprays and most common antibiotics. I've never had a CT scan despite insistent pleading.
I have been in constant sinus distress for about a year now with almost total loss of smell and currently have persistent headaches like I've never felt before. I know 'normal' sinus headaches and face pain and this is different. I feel a very sharp stabbing left temple region pain that radiates into what feels like the middle of my brain.
Of the doctors I've seen one wanted me to go to an Eye clinic, one wanted to enroll me in Women's Balance class (???), one said I had a "pooched over" septum, and the other threw her hands up in the air after antibacterials and antifungals and sprays failed. She ordered a C...
