leggsmalon,

Does one Frova take care of one Migraine for you, or do you need two Frova for one Migraine? Either way, treating 12 Migraines a month with triptans could put you at risk for medication overuse headache, aka rebound.

I know how easy it is to feel as if you've tried everything out there, but there are so many medications that can be used for Migraine and headache prevention that it's literally impossible. You can find a list of potential Migraine and headache preventives in Migraine preventive medications - too many options to give up!

If your doctor isn't able to help you, it may well be time to consult a Migraine and headache specialist. It's important to note that neurologists aren't necessarily Migraine and headache specialists. Take a look at the article Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? If you need help finding a Migraine specialist, check our listing of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists.

I can absolutely empathize with you. At one point, I was in bed all day an average of five days a week with debilitating Migraines. I finally got angry enough to take charge of my health care and went to a Migraine specialist. Even when I was at my worst, I was only allowed to take triptans two days a week. Now, I often go two to three MONTHS between Migraines. If you want to read more about my own battle against Migraine disease, take a look at Excerpt 2 - "Living Well With Migraine Disease and Headaches".

Don't give up!

More meds!! My insurance pays for 12 per 28 days.  I have another prescription for Migrinol nasal spray (works pretty good for me-tastes like motor oil if swallowed) incase I need more meds.  I get 20-25 migraines a month.  Sometimes 2-5 per day.  I also have Imitrex injections if needed.  NEVER mix triptans in 24 hours. Talk to your doc!  Good luck.
