This would be a good Ask the Clinician question.

I personally suffer from migraine and tension type headaches. I ended up with Transformed migraines and was put on Amitriptyline, which is good for Tension Type Headaches and is a daily preventive.

There are over 100 medications used for migraine and headache prevention.

From your question, it sounds like you are not yet diagnosed....your best bet would be to go to a doctor and describe your symptoms. That way you can get a diagnosis for sure and know what you are dealing with.

We have a list of patient recommended headache specialists here on our site, feel free to look it over and see if there is anyone in your area.

We also have a forum where you can chat with other headache/migraine sufferers.

Good luck!
