Q: Is there a link between Occular Migraine & working with display screen equipment?

Tom,

 

Screens that flicker can be a Mgiraine trigger. Sometimes, you can adjust the refresh rate of the screen to solve that. Sometimes, not. LCD monitors are generally better for Migraineurs because they have no flicker.

 

Something else to consider is whether it's the display screen itself that causes the problem or if it's a reflection of overhead fluroescent lighting that causes the problem. If that's the case, you can get hoods to put over display screens to avoid that problem.

 

I'm not really sure what you mean by Ocular Migraine because that's not a "standard" diagnosis and is used differently by different doctors. Please see Ocular, Optical, and Ophthalmic Migraines - The Basics.

i'd look up the studies on lighting types and migraines and past articles here and through nih and others.
