Dear Abha,

I have been through biofeedback training and can tell you that it does help me in relaxing so that my migraines attacks aren't as severe at times but and it helps me calm down in stressfull situations.  However, from my research I can tell you that biofeedback is geared more toward the peripheral nervous system and neurofeedback is geared more toward the central nervous system and the brain where migraine attacks typically occur.  The two schools of thought are based upon the same principle and the training is very similar.  It takes training and practice to become good at it.  And I can tell you that my biofeedback teacher was the least stressful person I have ever met - he just let the biofeedback work and stress just rolled off him.  I would recommend if you have a place near your home that offers neurofeedback which is really geared toward helping people with migraines I would definitely go there. These types of therapy really do help and I have suffered with migraines for 25 years and get them several times a month and sometimes they last more than 7 days but the biofeedback helps me get through them.

So I guess what I am saying is I would definitely do the neurofeedback.  You might want to run it by the neurologist and get  his/her feedback.

Goodluck to you.  I will keep your daughter in my prayers.

Thanks you so much for your response. This is really useful and helped me to keep my daughter going to  the neurofeedback provider.

I will continue to keep her in my prayers.  Remind her that this is a process.  She must practice in order to become adept at what they are teaching her.  Because of my biofeedback training I have learned to refocus my energy so that I can work a 10 hour day if I have to with migraine pain of 8-9. It taught me how to bring myself "down" and relax enough and refocus my energy to do what I need or have to do.  So it definitely works.  It justs takes time and practice.

You are in my prayers.  Peace be with you and your family.
