Yes, my sister gave me a copy when I was in college and I keep meaning to buy one for my husband to read. He doesn't understand why I sometimes react so strongly to sound, touch, light, or get worn out by being around large groups of people.
I had a headache on Super Bowl this year and though I wanted to watch the game, he had the volume up ridiculously high. Instead of complaining I just went in my office for a while, and when he kept getting me to see some commercials I finally said something about how I left because the sound was bothering me. He called me a stick in the mud. I'm crying again just thinking about it.
Normally he's NOT such a jerk (believe me, I'd be gone by now if that were the case) but I can imagine it's hard for other people to understand how we process things.
Thanks for the reminder; think I'll go to Amazon right now and get a copy of the book.
