Q: I just started keppera about a month ago and my husband had noticed a change in my moods;

first I noticed that I was getting headachs a lot then just a few days ago my husband said that He thinks that I have been really up and down in my moods I want to know if this could be from the keppra or other things that are going on in my life I know that I am getting ready to have back surgery and I am only 29 so that plays a lot in to what my moods are but untill just recently I didn't think they where that bad please help.

It is possible that Keppra is causing the changes in your moods. All the medications in this class carry a black box warning about this. This is a good reason to call your doctor.

My Doctor also started me on keppra a couple of months ago and I also had severe mood swings, one minute I was fine and the next minute crying. I would get so angry over little simple things that never upset me before. I told my Dr. so he took me off of them. They offered no relief anyway.
