Has anyone had experience with Cymbalta for treatment of chronic migraine?

RRW,
I've never used Cymbalta, so I can't share any experience with it. I do, however take Effexor XR, so I can at least comment about the use of antidepressants for Migraine prevention. I also have major depressive disorder, so the Effexor XR does double duty for me. It manages my depression, and it DOES help reduce the frequency and severity of my Migraines.
Hopefully, someone with experience with Cymbalta will give you some feedback too.

My experience with Cymbalta for chronic migraine was very positive, as it helped manage my depression, and completely suppressed my fibromyalgia symptoms. I was prescribed 60 mg.s one time twice a day. My Migraines soon dropped from 5 per week to 3, in combination with other maintenance medications.
My neurologist did end up switching me to Effexor later when it seemed the Cymbalta was not longer helping me as much with my depression or my migraines. I miss the coverage for fibromyalgia.

I actually got a second opinion from my local neurologist and he recommended I stay on nortryptiline rather than Cymbalta because of the number of people whose headaches get worse from Cymbalta.
