My name is Stephanie. I am from Lawrenceburg Tn. I have been dealing with migraines for 11yrs. I have been seeing a neurologist in the Nashville area, but within the last year I have had to see her nurse practioners, because my neurologist is very busy dealing with research. I haven't had good experiences with the nurse practioners simply because they don't listen and they continually want me to try prophalytic treatments. I have tried all of the prophalytic medications and I siimply cannot tolerate them due to the serious adverse effects. I am a patient who doesnt' tolerate alot of the medications out there that are used for treatment of migraine headaches. On the upside, I have found a new endocrinologist who has discovered that I have a severe hormonal imbalance. So now I am on a new thyroid medication, and I am trying bioidentical hormone replacement therapy which thank goodness is slowly but sure working. I have gone from 25 migraines a month to 6 a month. But I have several more months ahead before my hormones are working at optimal level. So now I am trying to find a neurologist who is compassionate, who will listen and take the time to work with me since I have a "unique" system( can't tolerate many meds). If anyone has any suggestions I would be greatful.
Sincerely,
Stephanie from TN
