I suffer also from hemiplegic migraine. First thing MD learn is not to give any sumaptriptan to this type of migraine sufferer due to the risk of stroke. I am on Verapamil ER, Fioracet, Phenergan suppo and Nubain 20 MG Inj. It is difficult to treat because it could be a stroke.... You need to find a good neuro who understands this type of migraine ( rare ). I have an average 3 migraines a week and i cannot speak, walk, lose my memory if i don't pass out. They  put me also on a diet and high dose of vita B2 ( riboflavin ). because of the severity and frequency, i am on disability.   Good luck Christelle
