Q: New gadget "Cefaly" as preventative for migraines

I have seen a write up on a migraine news blog for "Cefaly" - a sort of tens unit device to place on your head 20  mins a day to prevent migrane, and can also be used during a migraine. It is quite expensive - $368 on Amazon. The "research" cited looked pretty sketchy. Has anyone had any positive or negative experiences with this device? Thank you

Laura,

A few years ago, the Cefaly was being presented not as a preventive tool, but to use when you get a Migraine. A friend of mine had one, so I tried it. Did nothing to stop the Migraine. I haven't had a chance to try it for prevention because it's not available in the U.S.

Teri, thanks so much for your answer. I got so excited at the prospect of a non drug therapy!! And it is available here, on amazon. I should know that when something seems to good to be true... :-) Laura Reply

It's possible that it could work for prevention. I just don't know. If you decide to try it, please keep me posted?
