Hi kady,

Well, if he is in frequent pain he may be pretty angry. The first phase of a Migraine attack is called the prodrome and some people experience mood changes like depression and irritability. They can also have food cravings and excessive yawning.

Anatomy of a Migraine has detailed descriptions of the four phases of a Migraine attack.

Hormones may trigger a trigger a Migraine for some folks. Keeping a Migraine diary may be something to consider to track triggers(certain foods, dehydration or interrupted sleep patterns) for your son. We did this for our son and realized that he was triggered by chocolate, dehyrdation and changes in his sleeping patterns. You can download our free diary HERE. Our Migraine Triggers page, located HERE, has good information you may be interested in reading.

Good luck

Nancy
