Why so many meds at once, and why not give narcotics when the pain is so bad your head is a jack ham

I've had many meds.  I also suffer from anxiety and bipolar, and it makes it very diffucult to treat my migraines, considering treatment is usually with serotonin reuptakers.  I have to be on several meds at once, and my cost is around 500.00 bucks a month, which is killing us. …
