Q: Sharp neck pains

I frequently have sharp pains in my neck and shoulders, mostly my neck.  And any way I turn my neck, it makes these cracking sounds.  The neck pain keeps me awake at night also because I just can't get comfortable.  I do not have regular headaches or migraines.  I try to do neck stretches during the day but they do not help.

Hi inthegrove,

Since you don't have "regular" headaches or Migraines, what information can we help you with? Are you looking for a reason why you have sharp pains in your neck? I'd really like to be able to help you with an answer to your question, but can't, because it cannot be adequately answered online. A diagnosis can only be provided by a doctor who can review your medical history, your family's medical history, discuss your symptoms, and conduct a complete exam in person.

Good luck

Nancy
