Q: Need specialist in/near Richmond, VA

I am in desperate need of a headache/migraine specialist in or near Richmond, VA.  I have been to too many neurologist (some of who supposedly specialize in headaches) and have found no relief.  The one I have currently been going to for a couple of months told me, through his nurse, that really there is nothing more he can do for me and I know from information on this website that there are many, many things that I have not tried.  He diagnosed me with refractory migraines and recently did the DHE45 IV treatment in the hospital.  That only made things worse.  This doctor is supposed to be one of the best at one of the best hospitals in the country.  I don't believe that is true.

Is there a headache clinic near this area?  Any help/suggestions would be more very much appreciated.

Not in the area, but as someone who has been to a number of Neurologist for Migraines with auras that sometimes last over 72 hours I have been searching for someone that can help me since mine are chronic as well as genetic. I have been dealing with them since I was 16 years old I am now 38 and they have simply gotten worse. Like you I have been told there is nothing more they can do for me, by a number of neurologists. And yet with all the research I have done I have seen many medications that have never been tried with me. So Now I am looking into the following places to hopefully find relief from them.

http://www.jefferson.edu/headache/ (Philadelphia)

http://www.anodyneheadachepain.com/ (texas)

http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/neurology_neurosurgery/specialty_areas/headache/ (baltimore)

http://www.diamondheadache.com/ (chicago)

And this is the place in Alexandria (dc)
