I visited my primary doctor yesterday and told her about new symptoms I was having: muscle spasms, overall shakiness and blurred vision (the latest while driving--this was scarey so I thought I should get it checked!) anyway, she did not do anything!? She did not check my eyes, or ask if it preceeded a migraine (it did not) In fact, during the 15minute appoitment she never touched me, we talked. I was still asking questions as we were walking out the door. She appeared overwhelmed by my questions. Thats no excuse for ignoring the symptoms. Anyway, while getting online looking at these symptoms migraines were mentioned a lot. If anyone has had these symptoms was it due to medications you started or stopped? Do the symptoms stop at some time on their own? Is there anything I can do to help them before I can get a new doctor (won't be until October due to insurance)? Thanks everyone and I hope you are pain free!

Lisa,

Darn it, sweetie, this just stinks!

Problem is that none of us can tell you if these are Migraine symptoms, medication side effects, or what.

Do any of these symptoms usually happen to you before a Migraine? Is this still going on?

I'm really sorry not to quite know what to tell you. In your place, I'd certainly avoid driving until this is resolved. If these symptoms are still occurring, or if they start again, you might consider going to the ER.

I realize how hard it can be to be assertive with your own doctor, but a piece of advice I'd give you for future appointments is to stay seated until you've asked all your questions, and if the doctor starts to leave the room, stop him or her and tell them you have questions that need to be answered. When possible, I put my chair between the doctor and the door!

Keep us posted?

Teri
